Tackled in this post is an issue with Spotify app that doesn’t load or not working properly on the special edition iPhone (iPhone SE). I’ve also lined up a few simple procedures and possible workarounds that can be used to deal with the main issue. Spotify has become the number one app for legal streaming music in the US, UK and other parts of the world. It is a fantastic seamless service when it works but on occasion, some of you may be. Sometimes bugs in the current version of Spotify app that you are using can also cause Spotify to not open, so it would be best to check for updates in Spotify and if there are any updates available, then update to the latest version of the app.
Spotify changed the way people listen to and discover new music. It has become a force to be reckoned with, and only a few can match the fantastic music streaming service. I recently started using Spotify, and I faced a little trouble getting it to work. Spotify was not working on my Windows 10 PC though it worked fine on my Android.
It took me some time to go through all the settings and sift through the support forums to find solutions that actually worked. Without further ado, here is a list of solutions that will help you resolve the same and get Spotify working on your Windows 10 computer.
Open Spotify on your iPhone and then select the newly created playlist. Enable “Available Offline.” Step 6. You’ll now see a progress icon right beneath the song you’ve got on the playlist. This will get the song from the cloud to your Spotify app. That’s about it. When you add more songs to this playlist, they get synced. Some of the issues due to which Spotify won’t open are: Internet Connection. Most of the times, an application does not work because there are some issues with the network connection, either the WiFi is not working, or the connection to the device on which Spotify is being used is poor.
1. Relaunch Spotify
It is possible that the Spotify app didn’t launch correctly and this may have led to an error. To check, simply click on the red ‘x’ on the right side of the window to close Spotify. Give it some time to shut completely.
Wait a few seconds and relaunch to check if everything is working as intended. If not, don’t worry, we have got more tricks up our sleeve.
2. Reboot PC
I keep recommending this solution in almost all of my Windows 10 guides. https://gqbecv.weebly.com/blog/subaru-spotify-app. Rebooting the PC is a good idea to resolve errors without doing much of tinkering around things. Simply click on the Windows icon and select Restart.
It will take a few moments, so you can take this time to decide what you want to listen to next on Spotify.

Several users reported that killing the process associated with Spotify in the Task Manager helped them resolve the issue. Sometimes, the process never stops properly or continues to run even after the app is closed. And when you launch an app, like Spotify, Windows gets confused because according to it, Spotify is already running. Dumb, I know. That happens even though you have closed the app.
To kill the process, press Ctrl+Shift+Esc shortcut on your keyboard to launch the Task Manager and under the Processes tab, look for Spotify.
When you do, right-click on it to open options and select End task. Wait for a few moments until Spotify disappears from the Task manager. Now relaunch it to check if it is working or not.
4. Hardware Acceleration
Many Spotify users have claimed that unchecking the Hardware Acceleration option helped them bring sanity to their life. If you can open the Spotify window, press the Alt key on your keyboard and under the File menu, select View.
Now uncheck the Hardware Acceleration option and close Spotify. Wait a few moments and relaunch it again to check if it is working or not.
5. Reinstall Spotify
If you are still haven't managed to fix Spotify, then it's possible that there is something wrong with the installation files of Spotify. Do not skip this paragraph thinking uninstalling means clicking on the Uninstall option in Control Panel. There is more to it.
Hit the Windows key on your keyboard and right-click on Spotify to select the Uninstall option.
If the app asks you for confirmation, click OK. Now Press the Windows key+E on your keyboard to open the File Explorer and navigate to the below folder structure.
You need to delete the Spotify folder here. If you are unable to view AppData under YourUsername, right-click on Quick access and select Options.
Under the View tab, click on Show hidden files, folders, and drives option and then click on Apply and OK. You can now see the hidden folder named AppData.
Do not install Spotify from the Windows Store. A Spotify support staff has recommended users to install it using the ‘full installer package.’ That means follow the link shared below and install it from there.

Spotify uses audio drivers to deliver music to your ears, and if the drivers are missing or not up to date, you are in a fix. Download Driver Easy using the link below. Run the program. Driver Easy will scan your Windows OS and suggest missing drivers for many apps including audio if any.
Import spotify playlist to apple music for free. If you find audio in the list, follow the steps to download and install the latest version. The free version will work fine. However, note that you can only download one driver at a time as the free version doesn’t support parallel downloads. Still, it saves time as you don’t have to hunt for the drivers on the wild web manually. If you can, you may go that route. Either way, update your audio drivers.
Download Driver Easy7. Compatibility & Admin Mode
Navigate to the folder where you have Spotify installed on your drive. Usually, it’s the C drive. Right-click on the Spotify.exe file and select Properties. That will only work if you have installed Spotify using the link I shared above in the point 5, and are using an OS older than Windows 10. If you don’t meet both the criteria, skip this point.
Under the Compatibility tab, select Run this program in compatibility mode for and select the Windows OS version that you are using.
In the same tab, also select Run this program as an administrator. Click on Apply and OK. Relaunch Spotify and check if the issue is resolved.

If you’re an iPhone user and into music, then you’d probably have at least one music app installed on your device. One of the popular and widely used music apps to-date is Spotify. It offers a number of cool features that would best suit the needs of end-users. Spotify is also categorized among other online applications, which means that your phone must have a strong and stable Internet connection for the app to serve its purpose. That said, the Spotify app operations can likewise be halted if your iPhone is experiencing network connectivity issues from slow to intermittent Internet connection or no connection at all.
Tackled in this post is an issue with Spotify app that doesn’t load or not working properly on the special edition iPhone (iPhone SE). I’ve also lined up a few simple procedures and possible workarounds that can be used to deal with the main issue. Feel free to refer to this walkthrough whenever you’ll encounter a similar problem with Spotify app that has stopped working after installing an iOS update on your iPhone SE.
But before anything else, if you have another issue with your phone, drop by our troubleshooting page as we have already addressed hundreds of issues reported by the owners. Odds are that there are already existing solutions on our website or at least, there are similar problems we already fixed. So, try to find ones that are similar or related to your problem. How to troubleshoot iPhone SE with Spotify app that doesn’t load
Before troubleshooting, test your Internet connection. You can open your browser app first and then try navigating to different websites or pages. If you can access websites without bumping into errors but still having trouble running the Spotify application, then try any of these subsequent solutions.
First solution: Force close Spotify and background apps on your iPhone SE.
If you’ve previously opened Spotify and failed to close it when you update your iPhone, then it’s possible that the app was corrupted during the iOS update. The same thing can happen to other opened or background apps on your iPhone SE. To clear this out, force close Spotify and other background apps with these steps:
- Press the Home button twice quickly. Doing so will launch a new screen containing a list of recently used apps that aren’t closed.
- Swipe up on the Spotify app preview to force close or end the app.
- Swipe up on the remaining app previews to clear all other background apps.
This should clear the app from minor data corruption and thereby allows it to work properly again.
Second solution: Soft reset/force restart your iPhone SE.
Performing a soft reset or restarting your iPhone can be considered as the next possible solution to try on if clearing background apps doesn’t help. The new update might have caused system data to become corrupted and eventually affects apps functions including Spotify. If you haven’t yet restarted your iPhone after installing the new iOS update, then you should do this now with these steps:
- Press and hold the Power button for a few seconds until the Slide to Power Off command appears.
- Then drag the power off slider to the right to shut down your iPhone completely.
- After 30 seconds, press the Power button again until the Apple logo appears.
If your iPhone screen gets stuck as the Spotify app fails or crashes, then performing a force restart would be an option. A force restart works the same as the usual reboot or soft reset in terms of clearing minor software errors and app glitches. It also clears cache from the internal memory without affecting any saved data.
- To force restart your iPhone SE, simply press and hold the Power and Home buttons simultaneously for at least 10 seconds and then release both buttons when the Apple logo appears.
Retry loading Spotify app once the phone is finished booting up to see if the app is already working properly. Continue to the next applicable solution, if needed.
Third solution: Update Spotify, if available.
An application can suddenly become rogue after installing a new system update if it isn’t up-to-date. This usually happens from a major iOS update transition. The app may already be running in an unsupported version as the minimum system requirements for applications could change. As a result, the application won’t be able to run properly in the new platform. Seeing these possibilities, app developers also roll out updates soon before or after a major iOS version is released. If you haven’t set your apps or device to install updates automatically, then you would have to do it manually. Here’s how to check for and install pending app updates on your iPhone SE:
- Tap the App Store icon from the Home screen.
- From the App Store main screen, tap the Updates icon at the bottom right. A list of apps with pending updates then shows up on the screen.
- Find the Spotify app from the list then tap the Update button next to it. Pending update for Spotify app will then be installed.
- If you see other app updates available, then you can update all apps simultaneously by tapping the Update All button on the upper right of the screen.
Allow all apps to finish updating and once they’re done, reboot/soft reset your iPhone SE to apply the new app changes. Don’t forget to test Spotify and see if it’s already working as intended.
Fourth solution: Uninstall Spotify then re-install app from App Store.
Spotify may still be erratic or dysfunctional after applying the previous workarounds if the application totally becomes corrupted from the update. If this happens, the only way to get the app back up and running again is by reinstalling it. This also means the need to uninstall or delete the app first from your device. If you wish to try it then follow these steps to uninstall then reinstall Spotify app on your iPhone SE: Range rover incontrol apps spotify.
- Tap and hold on any app icon from the Home screen.
- When the icons start to wiggle, tap the X on the corner of the Spotify app icon to uninstall the app.
- If prompted, confirm action by tapping Delete.
After deleting the app, restart your iPhone then head over to the App Store<>< a=' /> style=”font-weight: 400;”> to search for, download, and install the latest version of Spotify app on your device. Follow these steps to continue:< />
Reboot your iPhone after the Spotify app is completely installed. Doing so will ensure that the app has been successfully installed and able to work with your iPhone system as intended.
Fifth solution: Reset all settings on your iPhone SE.
While updates are created for good purpose, there are some unavoidable factors that can make them yield negative outcomes. Some updates are programmed to alter system settings automatically. If this happens, there is a tendency for some functions or apps to end up having conflicts. To clear this out, resetting system settings can help. Here’s how it’s done:
- Tap Settings from the Home screen.
- Tap General.
- Scroll to and tap Reset.
- Select Reset all settings from the given options.
- If prompted, enter your device passcode to continue.
- Then tap the option to confirm system settings reset.
Resetting all settings on your iPhone SE will clear current system settings and then restores the default settings or original values. After the reset, you can configure your device and enable only the features you need to use. This does not affect any saved data on the internal memory, unlike a factory reset. That said, you won’t lose any critical data or personal information from doing so.
